Facebook’s Rights Manager

Facebook’s Rights Manager is a tool that helps Intellectual Property holders protect their content on the platform. If you are a creator or an owner of Intellectual Property, you can use Rights Manager to claim ownership of your content and control how it is used on Facebook.

Rights Manager has two main functions:

1. It allows you to identify and track your content on Facebook. This includes finding unauthorized uses of your content, and seeing where your content is being shared.

2. It gives you the ability to take action against unauthorized uses of your content. This includes setting rules for what happens when your content is used without your permission, and taking action to have infringing content removed from Facebook.

There are 7 steps you can take to use Facebook’s Rights Manager:

1. Register as a Rights Manager user. This can be done by visiting the Intellectual Property page on Facebook and clicking on the “Rights Manager” tab.

2. Connect your content to Rights Manager. This can be done by uploading your content, or by providing a link to where your content is located online.

3. Set rules for how your content can be used on Facebook. This includes specifying what actions you want to take when your content is used without your permission, such as having the content removed or preventing it from being shared further.

4. Review matches to see where your content has been used on Facebook. This can be done by checking the “Matches” tab in Rights Manager.

5. Take action on matches that you want to remove or prevent from being shared further. This can be done by clicking on the “Take Action” button next to a match.

6. Monitor activity to see how your content is being used on Facebook over time. This can be done by checking the “Activity” tab in Rights Manager.

7. Update your settings at any time. This can be done by clicking on the “Settings” tab in Rights Manager.

By following these steps, you can use Facebook’s Rights Manager to protect your Intellectual Property and control how it is used on the platform.
